EssilorLuxottica and luxury group, Dolce&Gabbana, have renewed their eyewear licensing agreement for another 16 years.

The existing agreement was due to expire at the end of 2029 but has been replaced with a new arrangement effective from January 2024 until 31 December 2039.

The licensing agreement covers the development, production and worldwide distribution of prescription frames and sunglasses under the Dolce&Gabbana brand.

The companies have collaborated since 2005.

Francesco Milleri, chairman and CEO at EssilorLuxottica, commented: “Dolce&Gabbana has held a special place in our hearts over two decades. Since our stories intertwined, we have created some beautiful, memorable, and innovative frames together, each a ‘made in Italy’ masterpiece.”

Milleri added: “Our early renewal signals the strong bond between our companies and the promise that luxury eyewear represents in the decades ahead.”

Alfonso Dolce, CEO at Dolce&Gabbana, described the 19-year collaboration between the two companies as “a powerfully effective partnership.”

“Today’s long-term renewal is representative of our shared confidence in the future opportunities from which both parties will benefit as we continue to work together in the years ahead,” Dolce said.
