The production and shipment of Vista Optics products may be affected after a fire broke out at a nearby building on Tuesday (November 17), the company has warned.
The fire started at a recycling centre close to the Cheshire-based facility at 12.30am and lasted for 24 hours.
Vista stock has all been temporarily relocated and will be fully re-packaged as a precaution, managing director, David Walker told OT.
Staff gained limited entry back into its Widnes premises at noon today (November 19).
Talking about the fire, Mr Walker said: “We have obviously lost some in-progress production, and there will be some delays, but we do not expect that our level of service will be much affected for any of our customers.
“Our established disaster recovery plan has been implemented and the trimming area will be the first area to be brought back into production. The majority of materials have rod stock in the work-in-progress stocks so, all things being equal, we will be producing stock by Friday (November 20) afternoon.
“The production laboratories may take up to a week to be back in production, but we can use premium time thereafter to catch up within a short period of time.”
If you are a Vista customer and have any concerns you can contact Mr Walker on 0151 420 3040 or email davidw@vista-optics.com.
