Essilor supports the Special Olympics

Essilor is donating Airwear 1.59 lenses to every athlete at the Special Olympics National Summer Games next month.

As a sponsor of the Opening Eyes program held at the five-day event, sales and marketing staff from the Bristol-based company have volunteered to help with the dispensing of the lenses during the Games.

The annual event will this year take place at the Walkers Stadium in Leicester from July 26-July 30. It is expected to attract more than 2,500 athletes, around 1,000 coaches and over 3,000 spectators.

Essilor’s dedication to the Special Olympics is reflected in its decision to support the cause company-wide, aiding athletes to gain optimum vision across the globe.

A spokesman for Essilor told OT: “Essilor is always keen to contribute to the Special Olympics because it recognises the importance of providing support to every member of the community.”
