Vision Express has teamed up with British designer Tom Davies in a partnership which will see the brand’s custom-made eyewear stocked in a High Street chain for the first time.
The frames will be part of the luxury offering at the multiple’s new Oxford Street East flagship store when it opens next month.
Last week the first UK-based TD Tom Davies store-in-store was introduced to Vision Express’ Oxford Street West branch, with 150 frames on display.
CEO at Vision Express, Jonathan Lawson, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Tom Davies, on what is an unique proposition. It’s wonderful for Vision Express to be able to offer a bespoke, made-to-measure service to our customers.”
The Tom Davies made-to-measure frames available through the High Street multiple cost from £235 and take around four to six weeks for initial consultation to delivery. A new service soon to be launched will see customers emailed a daily video clip showing the step-by-step production of their frames.
Tom Davies commented: “My concept is about taking what somebody likes in a pair of glasses, and making it absolutely perfect. And that’s no easy prospect. We don’t slot into any old optician chain because we need a commitment to training staff to deliver the product and the optician needs to understand the value of customer service in the way we do.
“Usually I only sell in high end boutique opticians, but Vision Express is the only major retailer I trust to work with my product, and get it right.”
