AOP hosts legislation and regulation event

September 17 2012

AOP Scotland will host a free afternoon event to update optometrists practising North of the Border on the latest optical news and offer practical advice designed to help members in day-to-day practice.

To be held at The Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness on October 7, the programme will be split into three sessions, including: excellence in optometry; legal surgery; and a fictional GOC case played out.

Optometrist and AOP professional adviser, Geoff Roberson, will discuss core standards and complying with legislation regulation and good practice. While Gerda Goldinger, head of legal services at the AOP, will be on hand to answer any legal questions relating to practising in Scotland.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to hear the answers to some of the frequently asked questions relating to GOS claims.

Starting at 2pm, lunch will be available to practitioners from 1.30pm.

Although the event is free to attend, places are limited and practitioners are urged to reserve a place by visiting www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/index.php?eventid=47785&
