College calls for research participation

September 5 2012

The College of Optometrists is calling for optometrists interested in taking part in research into visual impairments in people with dementia.

The project, which is due to start this autumn, will investigate the eye care of these patients and look how far vision problems are detected and managed.

The College is inviting optometrists to contact them if they are interested in being involved in any of the following areas: performing eye examinations on people with dementia; participating in a focus group to discuss issues around providing eye care for people with dementia; and contributing to a reference group that will make recommendations about optometric practice arising from the results of the dementia and eye care study.

Interested optometrists should contact the College’s research team on 020 7766 4346 or email martin.cordiner@college-optometrists.org
