Communication importance

July 9 2012

Contact lens giant Johnson & Johnson has announced the introduction of a new communication course at its Berkshire-based Vision Care Institute.

Designed using psychometric test, the Hogan Inventory, the course aims to highlight a number of communication challenges faced by practitioners, and toaddress solutions. Using interactive training tools, the session also covers human behaviour and patient motivation.

Kamlesh Chauhan, head of the Vision Care Institute, said: “The Vision Care Institute is delighted to be able to accommodate a course which is truly beneficial to eye care professionals. The bespoke Hogan Inventory will give eye care professionals a true sense of what changes they may need to make in their communication which, we think, will be valued by patients, new and old.”

The next ‘Effective patients communication’ courses, which are accredited for 3.5 CET points, are scheduled for July 19 and September 13.
