BCLA welcomes new council members

June 22 2012

The BCLA has welcomed the appointment of four new members to council. Maxine Green, Iain May, Sheetal Patel and Siobhan Wren have become directors of the Association.

Announced at the BCLA’s AGM, lay member Katherine Reed was voted to Council for a further three years.

BCLA president, Catharine Chisholm (pictured with Shelly Bansal), commented: “I am delighted to welcome our new members on Council. Iain, Maxine, Sheetal and Siobhan each bring with them a breadth of experience and knowledge that will ensure the Council remain well placed to address the needs of members. Above all, they share a passion for contact lenses, which lies at the heart of the organisation and its membership.”

At the meeting, past president Shelly Bansal thanked those who are retiring from council. They include: honorary treasurer Marc Bennett; optometric representative Michel Guillon; medical representative Vinod Kumar; contact lens optician representative Keith Cavaye; and past president William Thomas.
