Advice guide for awareness week is launched

June 14 2012

A guide giving practitioners, eye care charities and organisations advice on how to get involved in this year’s National Eye Health Week was launched at the Vision UK 2012 conference on Tuesday (June 12).

The third annual national awareness week takes place on September 17-23. The ‘Your Guide to Getting Involved’ features ideas for events and sponsorship opportunities.

Chair of the National Eye Health Week steering group, optometrist Francesca Marchetti said: “This free guide is a fantastic toolkit to inspire everyone to get involved in this year’s National Eye Health Week.

“It includes ideas about innovative events you can organise to mark the week and detail of the free National Eye Health Week resources which will be available later this summer to help you make your event as successful as possible.”

Practitioners taking part in the initiative are urged to let others in the profession know what they are doing by registering their event at www.visionmatters.org.uk. OT readers can download the free guide from the same website.
