VAO revamps website

April 14 2012

Well-known TV presenter and newsreader Fiona Bruce has launched Vision Aid Oversea’s new website. Ms Bruce is an honorary vice president to the charity.

The revamped site features a more news-driven homepage, a members-only forum and a social media section containing blogs.

Designed by Fat Beehive, the website also includes a new spectacle recycling section with an interactive map that allows members of the public to type in their postcode to find the nearest practice where they can donate unwanted spectacles.

Additionally, a new section called ‘Work in Focus’ will highlight stories from volunteer projects such as patient case studies and interviews from Vision Centre staff.

VAO development director, Jeremy Jalie, said: “Vision Aid Overseas has some amazing stories to tell about its overseas projects. With the new picture-led content and bolder design, the new website will help us to bring our international work to life and enables us to engage a lot more with our global supporter base.”
