Consultant Optometric Adviser for Wales

1-2 days per week
Secondment for maximum 2 years
The successful candidate will be paid on a professional fee daily rate basis
You will support, develop and implement policy relating to Primary Optometric and Eyecare services.
This will include: the provision of Ministerial advice, liaison with external stakeholders and partners, representation of the Welsh Government, management of relevant grant and research programmes, the collation and analysis of evidence and monitoring and evaluation of health and social care delivery. The branch you will work with has lead responsibility for Welsh Government policy in regard to eyecare and ophthalmology services and also has the responsibility to provide advice and support on development and implementation of related policy across the Welsh Government.
This post involves travelling within Wales and some travel to other parts of the UK.
