Emily McCormick has worked on the OT editorial team for four years. She has held a variety of positions on the journal, most recently as Web Editor. With a strong dedication to keeping the profession up-to-date with all the latest news within the sector, she has helped OT's web presence grow.
Emily will now be concentrating on expanding the multimedia news and feature offerings on the website, and increasing the regularity of updates.
After graduating in 2005 with a degree in journalism and print media, Emily went on to successfully complete an NCTJ accredited course.

Robina Moss has been Deputy Editor of OT for over 10 years and has a very high profile in the profession and optical industry. She was Editor of OT’s Eyefashion Today and was in charge of production for the popular, Upfront Practice Knowledge Guide. She has also produced the OT Careers Guide and OT supplements on contact lenses, hospital optometry, recruitment, franchising and starting up an optical business.
Robina has been a successful journalist for 28 years, previously working as a newspaper Sub Editor on The Daily Mail and The Yorkshire Post, and running her own newspaper which had a circulation of 60,000. She was one of only 10 journalists from across the UK selected for the NCTJ Calendar Year Course in 1983.

Laurence graduated from the University of Westminster after completing a Film & TV Production course. After working as an Online Content Executive at Ten Alps Creative for 18 months, he has moved over to OT full-time to further enhance the development of OT multimedia offerings to online users.

Navneet Gupta

Dr Navneet Gupta graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Optometry from Aston University in 2003 and following registration with the General Optical Council and The College of Optometrists in July 2004, he worked in full-time practice with Specsavers Opticians. He returned to Aston University as a Clinical Demonstrator in October 2005 and to study for a PhD investigating 'Functional Near Vision Assessment in Presbyopia', which he completed in January 2009.
Since September 2008 he has held the position of Clinical Editor for OT, whilst continuing to work in community practice in the Midlands.
Navneet is regularly involved with tutoring pre-registration optometrists and has also co-supervised students in practice. He has presented at international conferences and has published peer-reviewed articles in journals including Optometry & Vision Science, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery, Journal of Refractive Surgery and Contact Lens & Anterior Eye.

Ceri Smith Jaynes

Originally from South Wales, Ceri Smith-Jaynes is an optometrist currently working in independent practice in Lytham St Annes and Blackburn. She studied optometry at UMIST, graduating in 1999, where she won the year prize for pharmacology and went on to do her pre-reg with Dollond and Aitchison, staying with the multiple for five years after qualifying.
Ceri has been a pre-reg supervisor and has also supervised at the University of Manchester undergraduate refraction clinics. Her special interests include dry eye, Sportvision and irregular-cornea contact lens fitting. She has additionally given CET presentations on 'Punctal plugs and the management of dry eye' and is the low vision lead for the East Lancashire Local Optometric Committee.
BBC Radio Lancashire calls upon Ceri from time to time to set the record straight on the latest eye-related topics.
Outside of optometry, Ceri was involved in the marketing of iTeddy, making a video and advert for the launch of the toy designed by her optometrist-friend, Imran Hakim, which was eventually taken to the Dragons’ Den for investment.
Ceri is keen to get the optometric community using OT online for training and communication, recognising the multifarious uses of multimedia to support the familiar printed magazine.

Having previously worked for OT’s publisher, Ten Alps Publishing for a number of years as a Client Account Manager. Louise Walpole moved to the charity Optometry Giving Sight as UK Fundraising and Development Manager for 18 months before returning to publishing and becoming OT manager in November 2009.
Louise is the liaison between OT and its outsourced service providers and looks at opportunities to further develop the OT brand and offerings to its readers.
